Logan Update

Just wanted to update the info about Logan. We thought he would be gone by now, but he isn't! (YEAH!) In fact, they haven't even started his transition to his new home. We know once they start the transition it will be about 2 weeks, so we've still got some time! Evidently his great aunt is having some trouble/dragging her feet on meeting times etc. So, until they get everything worked out with her, they won't even start the transition . . . which is just fine with us! Until then he is just growing like crazy and getting even cuter (if that's possible)!

Kind of sad though because just these last couple of weeks I've noticed he's starting to have some seperation anxiety. Like when I pass him off for visits to grandma he cries now and reaches for me. Normal for his age/development level, but it will definately make the transition period harder for him . . . and for me.

15 Weeks Along!

Since I'm trying to photo document this pregnancy . . . it's time for the next post! Here I am at 15 weeks. For those of you that don't speak pregnancy, that translates to about 3 and 1/2 months along.

And as a point of reference, here I was at about 2 months:

New Family Pic

Ok, so Logan is going to be leaving soon. So SAD. I have been crying off and on for a week, and he's not even gone yet. So we are spending this week preparing. Preparing the kids, preparing Logan and mostly preparing me . . . his poor, sad, emotional, foster mom.

First thing we did is went out and bought him a new little people animal farm . . . this is his favorite toy at our house, and I knew he had to have one to take to his new home. I am going to wrap this up beautifully, and leave it out so the kids can see that it is there and they know he will take it with them when he leaves. (I'm trying to give them some concrete way of understanding that he is going).

Then, I have slowly started sorting through his clothes and stuff to see what was going to go with him and what was going to stay. I now have a partially packed bag of his things sitting in the living room. The kids and I need a visual reminder that this is real and it's happening soon.

And most importantly, we went out on Saturday and got some really sweet pictures of Logan with our family members. I want him to have them and I really want to have them for my picture books etc. Anyway, here are the pics.

As far as details, I'm a little short of details for the moment. We know that he will be going to live with his great Aunt and that she is planning to adopt him if his parents are unable to get him back. And I know he will be leaving soon . . . (I am fairly sure he'll be gone in a week or so). Right now we are waiting to hear back from the social worker on a transition plan (how many visits with the aunt and for how long before he goes to live at her house permanently etc). I'm hoping to get the final word and the transfer date sometime today. Until then, we are just going to do our best to enjoy our last week with him. (And I'm going to do my best to pull my hormonal, emotional, pregnant self together!!)

There really is a baby in there!

This is now my fourth baby, and I am somehow still amazed every time at that first ultrasound.

THERE REALY IS A BABY IN THERE!!

Up until I see it on the screen I have a really hard time believing it. But today we saw it, and there really is a baby in there. We watched his hands and legs moving and the umbilical cord pulsating and saw him from several angles. (no, we don't know it's a boy, that's just wishful thinking!)

And the really good news is that there is only one baby in there! I am always nervous up until the doctor says for sure it isn't twins!!

Anyway, here's the picture of our baby on the way. I know it's a picture of a picture and sonograms are notoriously fuzzy anyway, but it's a baby, just take my word for it!!

His head is on the left, his hands are the two little blobs on the sides, and his body is basically in the center. We could also see his legs pretty well, but they didn't show in the picture.

Oh, and I have a due date . . . I'm due March 12th!! And I am officially 12 weeks and 5 days along!

7 years . . . 3 1/2 kids later!

Jerry and I had our 7th anniversary last week! So fun to spend some time looking back and just appreciating our marriage and each other!! Amazing how many things have changed . . . how much our lives have changed in a short 7 years!!

We decided that the seven years have gone by really fast, but at the same time it is hard to remember a time that we were0n't married. So, even though the years have flown by, it feels like we've been married forever. :-) (In a good way!)

Anyway, Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to US!!
