This month has been kind of sad at our house. We had to take Logan to live with his Great Aunt and Uncle, and have been missing him very much. We feel confident that he is being taken care of and loved with them though, and that makes the transition a little easier. We just wish he could stay with us forever!
Also, Lindsay got a case of what we are pretty sure was MRSA (antibiotic resistant staff infection) in her leg and has been on a very strong antibiotic for the last 3 1/2 weeks. That has been difficult because the antibiotic makes her very sick to her stomach and lethargic. But, it was that or the hospital for IV antibiotics, so we have been toughing it out, and she has been a real trooper about the whole thing. It took almost 3 weeks before we saw any improvement in the infection and we were starting to really worry, but now it is completely gone and we just have one more day of antibiotics and we're finished!! (YEAH!!)
Also this month my dad's brother (Uncle Steve) died of cancer. We have spent a lot of time talking about him and following his very fast decline. We have been praying for him and for his family all this month. It is times like this that I wish we lived closer to our families. We are just so far away, and we won't be able to make it up to Idaho for the funeral. I wish we could be with Dad and Grandma during this very hard time.
On the bright side though . . . we have been enjoying getting ready for Halloween . . . we have the whole house and the front yard decorated and the kids already have their costumes all picked out and ready to go . . . now we just have to wait for Halloween to get here!
Also, we were able to go camping two weekends ago and we had such a great time! There are some really wonderful camping places around Whiskeytown lake (about 15 minutes from us) and we have been meaning to go all summer. We had so much fun exploring the woods and eating outside and roasting marshmellows and chocolate!! And, of course, the actual sleeping is always an adventure!! (Nobody got very much sleep, but everyone had a blast!) Now we are wondering if we can sneak in another trip before the weather turns cold and rainy. Although it's pouring outside right now, so we might be a little too late on that one!
