We’ve had an eventful month at our house!! We had such a great trip down to Idaho to visit with everyone!! It was wonderful to be with Grandpa for his wedding and to be able to see all the cousins/aunts/uncles/etc that we haven’t seen in so long! The girls are already asking when we can go back again! It ended up being a whirlwind trip because I had the date written down wrong on my calendar and we didn’t know what the right date was until we should have already been on the road driving to Idaho. But, it was definitely worth it, and now we know we can pack our entire family up and be on the road for a long weekend in less than 2 hours (yeah for us)!! Also, Jerry and I got a chance to hone up on our drive-through-the-night-skills which we haven’t had much call to use since college. We had so much fun seeing you all (missed you Mike and Erica and Curt and JaNae), and wish we could make those trips to see family more often!
Other than that, it has just been a busy month! I have been taking 3 hour classes 2 nights a week for Foster care. And the last three weeks Jerry has gone to the Foster Pride class with me. The 7 dollars an hour for babysitting is a little unpleasant when you are looking at 3 ½ hours a night, but it has been nice to get out and spend time together, even if it is just for a class! Luckily Jerry only has to go to one more class and then he is set for now and I have to finish up the last 5 classes by myself. I have to say, I am definitely NOT going to miss taking all these classes! But, the good news is that we have our foster care home inspection scheduled now, so it really feels like we are making some progress finally!! Now all we have to do is figure out how to lock up all forms of medication, paint, cleaners, insecticides, lawn care tools etc etc etc. The list is really endless, but honestly, some of it is stuff we should already have locked up for our own kids’ safety, so it’s probably all a good thing!
The kids are doing great!! We are all so excited for Spring break and Easter we can barely stand it! Today was our first day of spring break, so the girls both got to invite two friends over to an Easter party to celebrate! We decorated cookies and painted Easter eggs and went on a marathon Easter egg hunt! It was a blast, and the perfect way to start off our week and a half spring break!! (I’m so thrilled not to have pick up and drop off and home work and reading packets for a couple of weeks, that I’m definitely celebrating too!) And, tomorrow we have two Easter Egg hunts and a potluck Easter breakfast to go to, and then it’s going to actually be Easter!! Life is good! We love having something to celebrate at our house!!
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! Love, The Coleman Clan
