Things are looking so much better today than they did yesterday!! Jerry took my car into the shop first thing this morning, and they determined that it was the anti lock brake system that was faulty, and it kept running even after the car had shut off therefore running down the battery. They don't have the part in, but they ordered the new part, and luckily they were able to just disconnect that system and put in a new battery! So, we are no longer without transportation!! We'll have to take it back in a couple of weeks to get the ABS replaced, but until then I will still be able to drive it!
The other good news is that I called about Jury duty and my jury group doesn't even have to report! They will send me another jury summons in 6 months, but until then I don't have to worry about it!
Funny how a week that was looking like a complete nightmare is looking very maneagable now that I have a car and will be around to take care of the kids!! Someone upstairs must be looking out for me!! I'm so relieved I'm almost giddy!

If I had read your posting on Sunday, I probably would have come running to help. It sounds like things are running a little more smoothly today. I could have Paul write you a letter to get you out of jury duty. His letters have managed to get me out of it twice now.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand about jury duty is: I have been called to jury duty 4 times and have served twice, (once in Federal court in Portland) and your father has never even been summoned. That should go on the list of "Life is not Fair" and give me extra credit in the hereafter.
